Here you are welcomed by Frode and his team of 10 - 15 employees. Frode has grown up on the farm that has been run by his family for several generations over several hundred years.
The farm is one of the oldest places in Lofoten with ancient remains from a long time ago. The site has boat piers, a god farm and graves from the Viking Age. The Viking Tore Hjort is believed to have had his chieftain's seat here over 1,000 years ago. He is mentioned in the Viking saga and was killed by King Olav Tryggvasson during the Christianization of Norway. You will hear stories about Tore Hjort and other Vikings during your stay here.
On the Trail Ride in the Footsteps of the Vikings, you get to ride among mountains with wonderful views, enjoy the white beaches and learn a little about the geology and animal life on the island and see relics from the Viking Age.
