Summer is still trying to defend its position and the days at this time of the year are often wonderful sunny, but a touch of autumn is already in the air.
6 nights, 5 days riding, 1 horse/person, daily rides 12-30 km, no free running horses. Minimum 4 and max 14 riders.
Day 1. You are picked up at Akureyri airport or the bus station in the late afternoon. A 30 minutes drive will bring you to the farmhouse. After dinner details about the next days will be provided.
Day 2 We enjoy our first ride around hill Höfði with a scenic view to the longest fjord of Iceland: Eyjafjörður. We are 4 hours on the way. Coffee and Cakes at the farm. Visit of the turf museum of Laufás. Dinner and overnight stay at the farm house.
Day 3 Today we go for a longer ride towards the coast of Látrarströnd. The view to the fjord, the island of Hrísey as well as the mountains surrounding is breathtaking. We are 5 to 6 hours on the way. Coffee and cakes back at the farm. Swimming-pool in Grenivík. Dinner and overnight at the farm house.
Day 4 Today we ride towards South into the valley of Fjnóská. This will also be a 5 to 6-hour-ride. Dinner and overnight at the farm house.
Day 5 We ride up to Leirdalsheiði and explore the peninsula of Fjörður for about 5 - 6 hours. Coffee and cakes back at the farm. Sighseeing by bus to the waterfall of Goðafoss. Dinner and overnight at the farm house.
Day 6 We ride to the marshland of Nes, towards the fjord and up to the mountains. A potpourri of a wonderful landscape! A last ride of 5 - 6 hours. Dinner and overnight at the farm house.
Day 7 After breakfast transfer back to Akureyri.
We reserve the right to change the itinerary due to weather, trail conditions and any other factor that may affect the safety of horses and riders. This will not reduce the quality of the tour.
